ebooks. Founded by Michael Hart, Project Guttenberg was
started in 1971. You can download many out of copyright books
for free. You
can find the top free ebooks downloaded here. As of this
writing, some of the top downloaded books were The Notebooks
of Leonardo Da Vinci, The Art of War, The Adventures of Sherlock
Holmes, The War of the Worlds, and How to Speak and Write
Correctly.
Freecycle
- Their motto is "Think globally, recycle locally".
When you want to find a new home for something -- whether
it's a rug, a lamp, guitar, or an old desk -- you simply send
an e-mail offering it to members of the local Freecycle group.
Or, maybe you would like to acquire something for yourself.
Simply respond to one of the many offer's posted by the group,
and you just might get it. The person posting the offer makes
the final decision as to who gets their free items. Their
main rule: Everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate
for all ages.
